The four of us (Luke, me, Logan and Audrey) spent the night last night at the Ronald McDonald house near Emily's hospital. It was a beautiful mansion with comfortable beds, a playroom for the kids, a big kitchen, and close proximity to Emily! I went to the hospital on Friday night and held Emily for 2.5 hours while Luke stayed back at the Ronald McDonald House and went to bed with Logan and Audrey at 8:00.
Emily is still doing well. She continues to have 5-6 de-sats each day that require the nurse to intervene, but she continues to put on weight and now weighs 3 lbs 2.6 oz. One new area of concern is that Emily has a skin infection on her leg. Please pray that the antibiotics she is taking will work and will control the infection.
As an added bonus, my grandparents (Emily's great-grandparents) got to meet Emily this morning. They were traveling on their way back to South Dakota and popped in for a quick visit. Emily even opened her eyes to take a quick peek at my grandma before settling herself back to sleep.

I am so glad that you were able to stay at RMH--I'm sure that the kids had a great time and it must have been nice to be close to Emily. We will continue to pray that her oxygen stats will stay up and that the infection will resolve quickly.
Praying too for you, Luke and the kids that God will continue to carry you through this and know that so many people care so much for your family.

What a great picture of Logan and Audrey! And it was good for Dad and I to see Emily again yesterday and the Ronald McDonald House also. What a fantastic way for area church groups to minister to families with loved ones in the hospital. We continue to pray for your WHOLE family daily (almost hourly). I go back to work tomorrow but I will miss Logan and Audrey very much after being with them a lot lately!!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to update all of us, Kim. Emily will cherish these blogs one day when she's able to read them. Your family is never far from our prayers. You are an inspiration! The kids sure look like they're happy to be sitting by ol' Ronald in the picture...too cute! What a blessing to have that right near the hospital for your family. My brother spent his fair share of time there with my parents when I was hospitalized as a child as well...good memories of that RMH! Praying for the antibiotics to work for Emily's infection. Thanks for the continued updates. Keeping you in our prayers. :)
