Coffee

My mom came over for coffee yesterday and Audrey wanted to have some "coffee" too. She had so much fun sipping coffee (water) out of her tea cup and insisted on having some creamer (one drop of French Vanilla creamer per tea cup of water) as well! "It's hot!" "I need some creamer!" and "I'm drinkin' coffee!" were heard all morning. (Yes, all those exclamation points are needed... Audrey has one volume: loud!) It was fun sitting around the table with my mom and daughters though, and I look forward to many more "coffee times" to come.

Luke, Audrey, and Emily all have runny noses today (boo!) so hopefully they'll all feel better soon. Audrey's been saying, "I make music in my nose!" all morning. :)

Tonight Luke and I are going to a play staged in the Crown Point Courthouse. It was only a year ago that I performed on that stage playing Romaine Heilger in Witness for the Prosecution. I'm looking forward to time alone with Luke tonight, enjoying the show as an audience member, but I'm sure a part of me would love to jump right back on stage! Someday.

Coo

Not much to update, but here's a short video of Emily, figuring out how to use her voice. I love it! :)

Audrey Pearl

Lest we forget our middle child, here are a few recent pictures of Audrey to share. She is our clown, the child who loves attention! She also loves to play dress-up and play mommy. I put coordinating socks and shoes on her every morning, but she changes them multiple times a day and dresses up with any clothes, hats, glasses she can find. She also mimics everything I do and say with her dolls. "Don't do that, baby! No, no, no!" "It's ok, it's ok, shhhhh, it's ok, baby." "Whattsa matter? Whattsa matter, baby?" Audrey loves to make us laugh by using silly voices or facial expressions, and if we laugh once, it's guarenteed that she'll do the same thing again... only bigger! She loves to sing and always has a tune running through her head and has an amazing memory for the words of songs. She also loves to "help" but usually ends up making more work (by throwing all the dry dishes back into the water, for example). No doubt about it, Audrey is a lot of work (the most work out of the three) -- but she sure adds a lot of spice to our life!

Smiles

Emily is 4 months old today (adjusted age 1 month). She has been giving us a lot of smiles lately and has started cooing when we talk to her. I think I may have even heard a laugh yesterday when I was singing "in a one horse open sleigh - hey!" in a high, squeaky voice. I love it when babies find their voices. I think it's cute how Emily opens her mouth and sort of surprises herself when something comes out. :)

Emily had a well baby check this afternoon and continues to do great! She now weighs 10 lbs 4 oz! Whoo-hoo, big girl!

Back to School

After two weeks of Christmas break, Logan went back to preschool again today. He was eager to show his friends his two favorite Christmas presents: his Toy Story light-up shoes and his Curious George backpack with wheels! This is the first Christmas that Logan specifically asked for things (after seeing them on his classmates), and he was super excited to discover them when he unwrapped his gifts on Christmas morning. "I got my very own light-up shoes!" he exclaimed. We can't argue when he asks for practical gifts like shoes and luggage! :)

New Year

Happy New Year from our family to yours! Here are a few pictures from the photo shoot we did right before Christmas. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to update this blog more often so friends and family can stay updated on what goes on around here and so I have a record of what's happening in our rapidly-changing life. Check back again soon!

Happy 2011!
